When researching the leather camera strap industry there was one thing that popped up time and time again for pretty much all manufacturers. That thing was ‘breaking-in’ leather camera straps. Breaking in a leather camera strap is simply making it comfortable, smoothing over any hard edges and softening the leather as a whole.

While this is undoubtedly a unique and amazing aspect of leather because it moulds to you body and shooting style, it cant be ignored that it is a somewhat tedious process! There are ways around this, for example to use synthetic materials or chrome tanned leather. But that diverges away from the beautiful and unique look and feel that vegetable tanned leather provides. It has a timeless appeal that looks fantastic with every camera: vintage, DSLR, mirrorless, compact, etc.

So the idea of customising the edge finish was born. I wanted to give my customers the opportunity to make their camera straps feel comfortable and ‘broken in’ from day one.
